Twenty Reasons to Attend Our 50th Reunion
1. You can reconnect and reminisce with old friends. Few events offer the opportunity to reconnect with people that were once important to you like a high school reunion – and if you don’t attend, you may never see them again.
2. You don’t have to lie about your age. We all know how old you are.
3. It’s OK if you don’t recognize a classmate after not seeing them for 50 years. Some people look very much the same, while others (probably most) don’t at all.
4. You can laugh like a teenager again!
5. If you need a change of scene, a blast from the past may do the trick.
6. For those who don’t live near the ocean any longer, it will be great to be on the beach for a couple days again.
7. If any longstanding grudges or rivalries still linger after high school, you can use the reunion to get closure. It can be freeing to forgive someone or move past a hurt that time may have never fully healed.
8. No one cares what you do or did for a living or how much weight you’ve gained. They just want to see you.
9. You might run into an old flame or two.
10. You can even see some “kids” you knew who were in the classes below and ahead of you.
11. You could make new friends. You might actually like someone you had nothing in common with 50 years ago.
12. You can feel better knowing you’re not the only one who has been divorced more than once.
13. If you're single, you might not be much longer. Many happy marriages begin at reunions.
14. You want to try to dance one more time before your next hip or knee replacement. And dance like no one’s watching!
15. You can hear the songs you loved in high school – it will take you back to the days when we were carefree.
16. You can find out how your classmates have spent the last fifty years.
17. You can actually meet the people you’ve been connecting with on Facebook.
